JUDAS GOATS First Now a herd of MYRTLES!

JUDAS GOATS First Now a herd of MYRTLES!

70 Tory MPs set to join new group to fight EU integration

Up to 70 Conservative MPs are to join a new group dedicated to "reversing the process" of closer European Union integration in a move likely to place fresh strain on the coalition.

Dozens will attend a Commons meeting next month to discuss the formation of the Eurosceptic group which aims to provide "helpful advice" to the government.
The move carries echoes of the formation – more than 20 years ago – of the Bruges Group, which took its name from one of Margaret Thatcher's speeches in which she attacked the formation of a European superstate and which became a focus for Eurosceptic Tories in the 1990s.
The new grouping is being put together by three MPs who were all elected for the first time in last year's general election: 3, who was David Cameron's former media chief, Chris Heaton-Harris and Andrea Leadsom.
The trio wrote to fellow Tory MPs last month to invite them to a meeting in the Thatcher Room at the Commons on 12 September. Mr Eustice last night said the letter had so far attracted 71 positive replies – around a quarter of the party's MPs.
The letter states: "It has ... become clear that events in the European Union are going to dominate British politics in the coming years across a wide range of policies.
"We think it might be helpful if we set up an informal group of like-minded MPs who could come together to talk, receive regular quality topical briefings, exchange ideas and, indeed, provide support and helpful advice to the government.
"The political objective of the group would be to reverse the process of ever-closer union."
The move risks incurring the wrath, however, of the Tories' Liberal Democrat coalition partners, whose party continues to maintain broad support for Brussels.
Mr Eustice said: "There is a lot of interest in such a group. It aims to be constructive and the ensure that we make the most of the opportunity presented by a Eurosceptic PM and a changing context in Europe."
The new breed of younger Eurosceptic MPs takes a much more pragmatic view of the EU than the veterans of the old ideological battles over the Maastricht treaty that hamstrung John Major's government in the 1990s, some of whom, such as Bill Cash, are still in parliament.
Nevertheless it is estimated that up to half of the 148 Conservatives elected for the first time in 2010 think Britain should quit the EU altogether, with scores more believing the UK's relationship with the EU is ripe for a fundamental overhaul.
As well as the financial crisis gripping the eurozone and the lead-up to the future funding of the EU from 2014, several flashpoints are mentioned by MPs, including moves due to take effect in 2014 that would see the Luxembourg-based European Court of Justice have greater say over policing policy in the UK.
"As the fundamental nature of our relationship with the EU changes over the next couple of years, there will be greater pressure for referendums on key issues," one Tory MP predicted.
Plans to do away with all or part of the Human Rights Act will also carry on being a major issue.

"David [Cameron] promised a British Bill of Rights before the election," a Tory MP said. "But he can't deliver it – the Lib Dems won't let him. In extremis that could be a coalition breaker and the PM won't risk it."
Away from Europe, taxation is a thorny issue. Many of the new intake support moves to scrap the 50p top rate of tax on incomes above £150,000 in a bid to boost business – as Eric Pickles, the Communities Secretary, advocated this weekend.
Like Mr Pickles, and unlike among Lib Dems, there is little or no appetite for replacing it with another form of imposition on the wealthiest.
"I don't want to scrap the 50p tax band and bring in a mansion tax," one Conservative elected last year said. "In any case our main efforts should be focused on helping business and promoting growth."
Even moves to repeal the ban on hunting with dogs, brought in under Labour, and a touchstone for many rural Tory supporters, is likely to be a big problem for Mr Cameron.
Some new Tory MPs, many of them women with urban or suburban seats, favour keeping the ban in place – as do the overwhelming majority of Lib Dem and Labour MPs.
One backbencher confidently predicts there is no way the ban will overturned. "The numbers don't exist. The PM should just get on with it – lose the vote and move on."
An indication of the strength of feeling about the direction of travel the party should take can be seen from the fact that no fewer than three books are scheduled for publication around the time of the forthcoming party conference season in which Conservative MPs will attempt to seize the agenda.
One of them, provisionally entitled After the Coalition, features contributions from Kwasi Kwarteng, Dominic Raab, Elizabeth Truss, Priti Patel and Chris Skidmore, all members of the 2010 intake.
David Davis, Mr Cameron's main opponent in 2005 for the party's leadership and the former shadow home secretary, is also overseeing a book with contributions from mainly right-leaning MPs – including new members Steve Baker, Therese Coffey and Richard Drax.
A third tome, snappily-titled Masters of Nothing: The Crash and How It Will Happen Again Unless We Understand Human Nature, is being written by another pair of up-and-coming MPs, Matthew Hancock and Nadhim Zahawi.
Younger MPs are careful to couch their desire for change in terms of support for Mr Cameron and the coalition.
Mr Raab, a former business lawyer who is MP for Esher and Walton, said: "The mood is positive because the coalition is delivering – whether its deficit reduction, welfare reform or raising teaching standards.
"The challenge for us comes from the unforeseen and the unpredictable. The riots inevitably feel like a vindication of David Cameron's diagnosis of the broken society and the importance of family, while the Eurozone crisis has created a crossroads for the EU as a whole."

Tracey Crouch, a former head of public affairs for the insurance company Aviva who is now MP for Chatham and Aylesford, said: "Constituents understand that we've had to prioritise reducing the deficit in our first year of Government, but now they want to see us deliver on the key manifesto promises that they voted me and others into parliament on the back of.
"Every time there is a story in the paper about some ridiculous human rights claim, or outrageous EU spending commitment, I get reminded by constituents of not only what was on my leaflets but what was in the coalition agreement too."

However I am far more inclined to agree with Richard North in his article which follows - particularly having seen the self interest group that gathered around Dan Hannan, Marc Glendenning, Blob Crow and the other misfits who were disapointed at not being able to Hi Jack The People's Pledge funded by Toby Blackwell and run by James Pryor and Bridget Rowe nor - although they fed in the recycled Democracy Movement names I gather - they were unable to steal and l;ay claim to Nikki Sinclaire's Petition for an EU Referendum Campaign names - well aware that she had topped the 100,000 whilst they were still squabbling!

I am clearly of the opinion that although out manouvered Dan Hannan's relaunch was merely a manipulation by pro EU Labour party senior ranks seeking to embarrass David Cameron over a referendum just as this latest excercise is far more interested in the wishes of The Tory Party than the wishes of the electorate who have made it VERY clear that the majority wish to disassociate themselves from The EU and a huge majority wish to be distanced from it in political law making terms and the plethora of damaging trade regulations the costly scam forces upon us.

A herd of Myrtles - by Richard...

The Sunday Failygraph is making a big deal about an old story, one we covered well over a month ago. This is how those mythical creatures, "eurosceptic" Tories, are going to get together to do something or other.

Of course, this has nothing to do with the coming euro-elections, and the Tories wanting to avoid utter humiliation as the voters show they prefer even the dysfunctional UKIP to them. Thus, do we have Myrtle the Judas goat, but now in herds, as the Tory claque collects together their licensed dissidents, a grouping with all the credibility of the people's front for the liberation of Judea. When all is said and done, they are still Tories.

The more substantive point, though, is that euroscepticism is old hat. Given its current travails, there is little chance of the European Union surviving in its present form to the end of the next decade. The better odds are on a complete collapse.

Moreover, as it becomes increasingly apparent that our membership of the EU is a symptom of a greater malaise, and that leaving the EU would not actually solve anything, given the corruption and incompetence of our political élites, the idea of Tory Boys (of both sexes) getting worked up about the EU frankly lacks appeal. In truth, though – as Wittering for Witney points out - they are taking the piss.

Even if we take the initiative at face value, this is a case of generals fighting the last war. We have the advanced guard of the politicals fighting yesterday's battle. One should perhaps be grateful that they can deal with such an advanced concept, but even that has little more than academic interest.

The real battle is elsewhere. This parliament has had its day. It has become little more than a self-interest pressure group.

Helen SZAMUELLY Shows The Folly of The Judas Goat!

Helen SZAMUELLY Shows The Folly of The Judas Goat!

Hi,

Ms. Szamuelly on her blog a few hours ago highlighted the folly of Daniel Hannan in producing a poor imitation of The People's Pledge Campaign for an In/Out Referendum as sponsored by Toby Blackwell and managed by James Pryor and Bridget Rowe.

Daniel and his associates seem not to have understood the fact that the whole point of a peoples' pledge was that it is OUR-ENEMY-WITHIN, the very politicians, establishment figures, union bosses and Snivil Cervants who have betrayed those very 'people' who are signing the pledge.

It is not as simple as to say, as Einstein did long after his days of inovative mathematics were left with his wife 'The first signs of lunacy are repesting the same experiments over and over and expecting different results'.

Clearly he was right and intrinsically ALL referendums are merely nibbling at the edges but let us hope it buys the time for the inevitable formulation of the long awaited middle class revolt with a clear intellectual vision which has been the very backbone of all successful revolutions - be that The Levellers, Cromwell, The Chartists or the emergence of The Labour Party which was sadly destroyed by its hijacking by such as The Fabians, The Unions and the dishonesty and greed of Nooo Labour.

The emerging concepts such as Referism require space to develope, not to mention further input of ideas and as a concept it is not alone in seeking to be a solution to the failed concepts of centralised quasi dictatorship by unelected apparatchicks, as with The EU.

The peoples' pledge that The Judas Goat set out to destroy to lead the referendum to the slaughter was and is based upon sound principles all beit it will merely keep the flame alive - Meanwhile The Petition for an In/Out Referendum is on the verge of presenting its firts petition through the speakers chai led by an MP and subsequent petitions will be presented by MPs of different Parties who have agreed to support the effort.

It is unlikely to force the hand of Cameron to hold the debate and referendum promised to anyone who obtained 100,000 signatures a figure The Petition is fast approaching and were it not for the present meeeja difficulties/fudges of News International articles may well have carried it forward.

One wonders what format The-Sun-on-Sunday will take since we know most of its journalists of old and its CEO!

As I said the aim is to keep the flame alive - the flame of freedom, sovereignty and Justice The Judas Goat must surely have realised how it would help The EU to align with the crypto Communism of the failed Labour party and such reviled individuals as Bob Crow - reviled as Helen Szamuelly rightly shows in her article below:

That campaign continues

The Express, home of at least one, maybe more In/Out referendum campaigns, has an article about the Boy-King moving "to switch EU power back to Westminster". Much to be said for it, but how is he going to do it. It sounds a bit like he is going to thcweam and thcweam until he is thick. It may have worked for Violet-Elizabeth Bott because she was a determined young lady but I can't quite envisage the Boy-King following in her footsteps.

The Express is quoting yet another interview with the Spectator, which is in the front-line of the campaign to prove that the Conservatives are the real eurosceptics as this blog has said, repeatedly.
DAVID Cameron last night promised to negotiate a new relationship between Britain and the European Union that will bring back power to Westminster from Brussels.

In a shift in Government policy, the Prime Minister predicted that fresh opportunities for loosening the UK’s ties to the EU were certain to arise as a result of the eurozone crisis.
Well, to start with, we do not have a relationship with the EU, we are part of it. What sort of relationship does Devon or Sussex have with the United Kingdom?

Secondly, changing the structure of the EU requires, which is the only way those powers can be brought back to Westminster, requires a change in the Treaties and the agreement of all the other member states. Will the Boy-King achieve that?

Thirdly, his great boast of "getting Britain out of the bailing out mechanism" amounts to very little.
He said: “I got us out of the bailout mechanism, which has been used repeatedly and from 2013 cannot be used again, so I think I exacted a good and fair price for Britain.”
Jam tomorrow, and today we pay. Also, one can't help wondering whether this is yet another cast-iron guarantee. The great shift in the British position, according to James Forsyth who conducted the interview is an acceptance that the eurozone may not be such a wonderful idea after all and a stable eurozone, not being something that will be achieved any time soon, does not need to be part of British calculations. That's it. Oh and bringing power back to Westminster.

Are they really planning for an earlier election than most of us think?

While we are on the subject of fudging of issues, I note with interest that the People's Pledge (which always makes me think of East European furniture polish) is quoting widely Bob Crow on the horrors of job losses because of the Bombardier fiasco. (No, I am not linking.) Having managed to fudge the question of a referendum with the question of EU withdrawal (not the same thing at all but that is the line People's Pledge and the EU Referendum Campaign are peddling) they are now busy destroying support for both by quoting the man who must be more hated in this country than anyone else. Of course, theoretically, he is merely supporting a referendum but, thanks to the fudge exercised by the two campaigns, it will seem that Bob Crow is supporting the withdrawal. We know how well that played in 1975 and can guess how well it will play now

03-May-2011 - Dr. Lee ROTHERHAM NEW BOOK of 'CONTROVERSIE'

03-May-2011 - Dr. Lee ROTHERHAM NEW BOOK of 'CONTROVERSIE'

Today, The EU Referendum Campaign announces the launch of their first book, Controversies, written by Dr Lee Rotherham.

Controversies contains previously unpublished speeches and documents.
Would Churchill have wanted Britain to be part of today's EU?

Did Ted Heath lie?

The Lost AV debates

The book is forwarded by Lord Lamont who says:
'What is so controversial about this book is that it has taken so long for this material to come into the public domain. I strongly recommend it for anyone interested in the European debate, and indeed in the history of British democracy.'

Dr Rotherham, a former advisor to three Shadow Foreign Secretaries who was also a senior member of Eurosceptic staff during the drafting of the EU Constitution, explained,
"So much of what happens in Brussels is hidden from view. What's astonishing if we delve into the archives is the extent to which we are utterly ignorant of our own democratic past as a result.

"The EU Referendum Campaign is doing a fantastic job in making people aware that we need a big debate - and an even biger vote - on the EU. Let's start from a position of genuine understanding. Let's clear aware the cobwebs and cast some light in there."
James Pryor, Chief Executive of the EU Referendum Campaign said:
'We are proud to be working with Lee. His book, Ten Years On, is used by the majority of Eurosceptics as an authorative document. His new book, Controversies, will, no doubt, form the base for future campaigning literature..'
Controversies can be downloaded from the EU Referendum Campaign website at www.eureferendumcampaign.com.

Hard copies of the book can also be ordered from the website or by writing to us at:

15-Mar-2011 - BEWARE THE IDES of MARCH & The Ghost Absent at The Party

15-Mar-2011 - BEWARE THE IDES of MARCH & The Ghost Absent at The Party

Hi,

absolutely on cue and as predicted!

the Judas goat has arrived leading the beguilled to the slaughter CLICK HERE

What could be more apposite than to see The Judas Goat AND Myrtle arrive like lambs to the slaughter and on The Ides of March no less - duped by their own egos to dance to the tune of the Millipede to embarrass The Boy King!

With at most 40 people at their sorry little launch it became clear this was NOT a people's referendum campaign but the very people who got us into this vile and corrupt EU scam with all the usual suspects following eachother like processionary caterpillars around the rim of a plant pot.

The guest list leaked to me showed form on 'HIGH' that the ghost of the party was surprisingly absent but with so uninspiring founders one need only glance at the list of supporters to know that yet again poor old Malcolm Pearson would seem to have been duped into parting with his Zionist scheckles - adding this to a long list of his abject failures where increasingly making a fool of himself early in the piste, as he did with his outrageous comments about Muslim women and his risible incompetence as puppet leader at UKIP - this dishonest and dishonourable little chap will soon be scuttling off to try to stem the outflow of cash he lacks the brains to earn and the wit to hang onto (hence flipping and downsizing his London Home recently).

Where was Malcolm Pearson at the launch today upon The Ides of March?

We note that the house idiot young Zac Goldsmith was conspicuous by his absence of clear funding despite the Millions Daddy earned for him (I appreciate much has been transfered to his last failed marriage) which he squanders hand over fist with his idiotic self indulgent claims of being a journalist, a task he carries out with little rigor it seems when it comes to his farcical beliefs in Anthropogenic Global warming but when Daddy gave you £300 Million I guess people would say 'Yes Sir'
if you claimed to be The Wizard of Oz - or for that matter fiddled election expenses!

That this new top down referendum is a setup by The Millipedes to embarrass The boy king is in little doubt and that it panders to those whose careers have lost their way in The Tory fold is self evident.

However one wonders if The Judas Goat and Myrtle have as yet realised that Goat Stew is fast approaching on the menus with Malcolm seasoning and Zac dressing to enhance a meal of revenge for The Boy King, best served cold!

The story of The Judas Goat foretold this risible debacle in some detail CLICK HERE

We note with some interest that there was no one from either of Malcolm Pearson's last two follies present at the launch of any stature unless of course you count the Judas Goat himself and little Myrtle who when denied the status of Prima Donna were bound to set up to rival the EU Referendum Pledge managed by Bridget Rowe and James Pryor, fronted by Jon Gaunt DELIBERATELY non party political and backed generously by a man of substance he EARNED rather than merely inheritted without the brains to go with it Tony Blackwell has made his money through his own hard work and in depth knowledge of books and ancient texts the wisdom of many having been osmotically imbibed at very least!

One has to pity little Dan Hannan with his excellent command of the language, his superbe penmanship and great competence as a speaker the poor lad would seem not to have an ounce of common sense and has progressively managed to manipulate his own career up a creek and throw away the paddle - as a politician that leavs him merely as a performer of much accumen and a scribbler of some competence but politically - even with this latest throw of the dice he is finished, had he the aspirations he claims.

We have watched poor little Daniel make error after error until now we see him as part of agit pro alongside such professional EU cream puff salaried political terrorists as Stuart Costa and Marc Glendenning - who also tried to be important in Tony Blackwell's EU Referendum Campaign Pledge, yet quit on the pretext they could not find time for involvement in a Referendum and continue their work with what is left of the democracy movement.

I wonder how much their time cost to join this latests ego trip - notably lifting the ideas they could understand from The EU Referendum Campaign Pledge - yet entirely failing to understand the basic concept!!!

I guess when one has lived in the gutter of politics eventually all one can smell is ....

This latest ego trip set up by such pillars of society as Bob Crow, Labour EUnoch Safeguards, Mr. Placeman Pearson (or Ruth Lea wouldn't be allowed out past her bed time), Wacky Zacky, Keith Vaz, Mark Seddon (who he? Tribune!!!), Christopher Bruni-High, The liar and rascal Marta Andreasen as she wheedles her way to try to jump ship from the sinking and stinking leadership of UKIP,

In fact is you want a list of those you would clearly want NOT to have on your side in anything representing The People or Grass Roots you will find them at CLICK HERE Perhaps you would care to play a small game with yourself in ABSOLUTE confidence and see if you can find a fourth person to select to join the three you would be prepared to invite to your home for a weekend!

I am surprised that they could not even find someone with the intelligence not to play straight into the hands of Noooo Labour and The Millipieds who are clearly the band for this particular Dance Macabre - Not even a new idea these sad muppets have even had to steal the EU Referendum Campaign Pledge concept but their failure to understand it has guaranteed a win for the forces of evil and a Referendum no self respecting EUroSceptic would go within 100 miles of, as it hands a victory to The EU.

British Politicians with pens and treachery, in pursuit of their own agenda and greed, have done more damage to the liberty, freedoms, rights and democracy of the British peoples than any army in over 1,000 years.

The disastrous effects of British politicians selling Britain into the thrall of foreign rule by the EU for their own personal rewards has damaged the well-being of Britain more than the armies of Hitler and the Franco - German - Italian axis of 1939 - 1945.

It does rather look as if this twittering bunch of twerps are yet again in persuit of their egos and in arrogant belief in their own importance are about to act in such self serving hubris that it will be they who deliver Nemesis for our enemies AGAIN!

I shall continue to support the well thought out cross party and no party Grass Roots efforts of The Petition for a Referendum campaign which has obtained so very many absolutely new and non political signatures so far and also The EU  Referendum Campaign Pledge as original conceived to grow on a slow burn basis pandering to no egos and NOT LED by the Political pond life that has already betrayed these United Kingdoms.

One need only look for a moment at CLICK HERE to see where the problems lie! With their obvious smugh self satisfaction and divisive self interest!

The Daily Mail when checked upon The Ides of March would seem to clearly endorse my assesment:

Indeed it is abundantly clear that even The Ghost of Banquo would have been ill advised to attend this launch from the winter fastness of Rannoch Moor let alone Dunsinane as clearly The Judas Goat leads Duncan to his room whilst Mertle has seemingly armed Lady MacBeth.

Consulting The Daily Mail would lead one to realise that indeed young Marc Glendenning and You Gov may well be too busy mugging up on polling techniques to stir this new pot as clearly their Poll results are far wide of the actuality of grass roots in The Daily Mail when it reads of their plans to sabotage a Referendum with their chums - Just who is keeping The EU supported to maintain their incomes, one is forced to ask!

To read The Daily Mail article which obfuscates more than it clarified on the day prior to The Launch of this latest self serving Ponzi style scheme CLICK HERE The article shows the enriching process for politicians and professional campaigners but what of those grass roots that they so consistently walk on!

Richard North as one of Britain's most respected and best informed Bloggers and authors in this field had some interesting and prescient comments with which I largely agree at CLICK HERE

Thinking straight

Posted by Richard Tuesday, March 15, 2011
The response to latest make-work scheme for redundant campaigners seems, from the poll response

One never ceases to wonder, however, at how easy it is to milk the Eursoceptic community with one faux campaign after another, often with the seductive cry of: "better to do something than nothing". There are far too many people thinking with their backsides instead of their brains. When you get the Speccitwats and a failing newspaper in it together, it is time step back and ask what is going on.

Interestingly, I quoted J B Priestley quite recently ("Out of the People", 1941), on the issues of activism and strategy. He wrote:
We often hear people cry: "Never mind all this writing and talking, get on and do something." The answer to that is, that at the stage at which most people in the country have arrived, writing for them and talking at them is the best kind of action. It is a change of ideas and mental attitudes they primarily need.
That is especially true now – what we need is a "change of ideas and mental attitudes".  The reason we got into the Common Market in the first place was because people were attracted by the idea ... not the practicalities ... they had no notion of what those entailed.  The way we get out is to reverse the process. We have to devise an alternative idea, a "vision" of a Britain of the future. You think of a Britain as you want it to be, a Britain that you believe would be attractive to the majority, and which is achievable.

Then you "sell" that vision. When and if it comes to an EU referendum, all you then have to do is point out that the vision is not achievable as long as we are members of the EU. In that context, instead of leaving the EU being seen as a leap into the dark, it is seen as a barrier preventing us from reaching the light. That is a winnable position.

One of our commenters got the point:
Our eventual withdrawal from the EU must come about as a natural consequence of a new national way of thinking ... a new 'ism'. Which will have gained such purchase within the hearts and minds of the nation, that continued EU membership becomes untenable simply because it is at odds with that new thinking. Withdrawal won't even require a referendum ... it'll just happen as a matter of course.
My point, which very much reflects what is said above, is that the battle is won or lost in the preparation: think Monty and el Alamein. The battle was won before the first shot was fired. This is the position we must be in. If they lose the battle, they lose the battle ... if we lose the battle, we lose the war.

Cranmer gives it a fair outing, and offers far more thought that that idiot Myrtle, but his conclusion that it is "all we've got" simply doesn't wash. Futile gestures are still futile gestures, however they are dressed up.

If we lose a referendum, Euroscepticism is wiped out for a generation. There is too much at stake here, for us to be playing games, or allowing the agenda to be taken over by lightweights who are only after a meal ticket. Just for a complete change, let's stop being professional losers and instead consider a winning strategy. In two or three years, we could be there.
(illustrated above), to be one of less than total enthusiasm.

03-Mar-2011 - EXPRESS - Get Britain Out Of EU NOW

03-Mar-2011 - EXPRESS - Get Britain Out Of EU NOW

GET BRITAIN OUT OF THE EU NOW

Thursday March 3 2011 by Macer Hall, Political Editor
DAVID Cameron was last night challenged to make May 5 the day that Britain decides whether to quit the European Union.
The Daily Express stepped up its crusade for the UK to cut ties with Brussels by calling for the planned referendum on electoral reform to be turned into a historic vote on EU membership.
Leading MPs and campaigners backed the move. Tory MP Peter Bone, of the Better Off Out group, said: “This is a splendid idea by the Daily Express. It makes absolute sense.
The Daily Express is calling for the Government to ask Britons to decide whether to quit the European Union
“If we are going to have a referendum at all, it should be on the question that everybody wants asked. It would be cost-effective and encourage a high turnout.”
ìThis is a splendid idea by the Daily Express it makes absolute senseî
Peter Bone

The move would transform the planned referendum on whether to replace the current first-past-the-post system for Westminster elections with the “alternative vote”.
Voters are due to be given the choice on May 5, also the date of town hall elections.
Critics have branded the referendum on the voting system – costing taxpayers an estimated £250million a waste of time and money that will inspire little interest from the public.
Adding a question on Britain’s EU membership would, in contrast, spark passionate debate, at no extra cost.
Labour MP Kate Hoey said:

“Why not simply add a question on whether to stay in or leave the EU?

“It would cost virtually nothing more and would guarantee a huge turnout for something the British people fiercely care about. Surely it is time that the public get to have their say.”
Some want the electoral reform question to be dumped in favour of an EU poll. Euro MP Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Independence Party, said:
“Nobody asked for a referendum on the minutiae of how we vote for those who govern us. Millions wish to decide who governs us.
A referendum on membership of the EU will allow the people to decide who really makes decisions on our behalf.”
But Downing Street insisted that the issue of EU membership was not on the table. A spokesman said: “The Government believes that membership of the EU is in the national interest, and for this reason there will not be a referendum on whether we remain a member state.
“We do, however, believe that change and improvement are required from the EU, and we are confident in the UK’s ability to move the EU in the right direction.
“The UK will neither join, nor prepare to join, the euro during this time.”
Bridget Rowe, of the EU Referendum Campaign, hit back, saying: “What [voters] are interested in is having a say about Britain’s membership of the EU.
“The politicians have tricked and diddled us for too long. All three main parties promised us referendums on constitutional change in the EU but never delivered.”
And Tory backbencher Philip Davies said:
“Surely if we are going to have a referendum, it should be on something we want to vote about.
“When we joined the EU nearly 50 years ago, we thought we were joining a European free trade area, not agreeing to having our laws decided in Brussels.”
Whitehall sources insisted it was “too late” to alter the referendum question for the May 5 poll.
A spokesman for the Cabinet Office said:
“The referendum is now set in stone.”
The call for May 5 to become Britain’s day of destiny comes after the Daily Express delivered a 373,000-strong petition calling for Britain to quit the EU to 10 Downing Street in January.
Last night Mr Cameron finally responded to the petition, one of the biggest in newspaper history.

07-Feb-2011 - WESTMINSTER HOUSE Mag Back Cover this week!

This advert is on the back cover on The House magazine which goes to all MP's and Peers.

Well done to Bridget Rowe, I have no idea how she managed to pull it off to get the back cover of that mag but she did (probably better not ask but I don't think phone tapping was involved or a close relationship with an SO1 Officer!)

The advert's placement couldn't more in-your-face.

The (MP's and Peers.....and 1,400 researchers, parliamentary assistants, press lobby and political staff) pigeon holes at the Houses of Parliament would have received a copy on Friday afternoon.

Monday morning when they all turn up for work should prove to be interesting..............

Well done The Team & particularly Bridget ;-)

The last time this was done was with:

We need to strengthen both The Petition for a Referendum and also for The EUReferendum Campaign in the light of the duplicity of the probable Judas Goat (or See search top Right Sidebar!) where on an ego trip it seems that yet again the peoples of these United Kingdoms are likely to be betrayed by a gaggle of self serving politicians.

Clearly in our efforts to redeem our Liberty, restore our Democracy, reinstate our Sovereignty, repatriate our Governance, reinvigorate our Economy, reconstitute our Values and re-establish our fundamental Human Right of Self Determination within these United Kingdoms with men and women of honour returned at Westminster we must NOTE it was Politicians and the burgeoning army of Snivil Cervants and the Kleptocratic QUANGOcracy which betrayed us.

History has shown us time withouit number it is our people who save our Country whilst again and again it is the failures of our politicians that plunge us into trade wars, social wars, civil wars and military expansionist wars - rarely have our politicians or scivil cervants served us well and now it seems that emerging from our political class is the Judas Goat seeking personal gain and seeking to emasculate the people thus ensuring a prolongued vassal status within the malevolent and vile EUropean Union.

87% Of British People Want MORE EU DEBATE 'cos THERE'S A THIEF ABOUT

87% Of British People Want MORE EU DEBATE 'cos THERE'S A THIEF ABOUT

87% of the British public think the EU needs to debated nationally

In an exclusive ComRes poll on behalf of the EU Referendum Campaign, it was revealed that the British public clearly want more of a national debate about the pros and cons of being in the EU. They feel that more information about the EU is needed.

The public were asked if they agree or disagree that “There should be more of a national debate about the pros and cons of being in the EU so that the public are better informed”:
Agree: 87%
Disagree: 7%
Don’t know: 6%

James Pryor, Chief Executive of the EU Referendum Campaign said “The British people want the truth about our membership of the EU to be brought out into the open. They want to know what it means for them and their families. The politicians have to start telling them the truth about our relationship with the EU.  Why can’t the people have a say? Why can't we have a referendum?  What are the politicians afraid of? The debate has, for far too long, been kept in the Westminster Village where it has constantly been kicked into the long grass  and this has created the most appalling democratic deficit of our times”

ComRes Chairman Andrew Hawkins said: “There is an overwhelming sense not only of suspicion towards some of the key EU competences but also that people feel kept in the dark about why Britain is in the EU.  Given the resonance of ‘ever closer union’ and the enthusiasm in some quarters for direct fiscal powers – which have been floated as a response to the economic crisis – I cannot help but think British public opinion is on a collision course with the EU.”

05-Jan-2011 UKIP Leader Nigel FARAGE Denounces Referendum as a concept

05-Jan-2011 UKIP Leader Nigel FARAGE Denounces Referendum as a concept

UKIP: The Letter that Nigel Farage didn't want you to see

Click on the letter for a closer look

It is interesting to note that the UKIP party website includes a call to support a campaign for a referendum on EU membership. Farage has also been quick to jump on the bandwagon, especially if he can use the issue to get his face into the press.

But the truth of UKIP's position is slightly different. In private, Farage's office is less than optimistic about the chances of success as a result of any referendum, as this letter, which has been widely distributed to the press, proves.

"Petitions, I may say, are useful for publicising issues and recruiting activists; but, where such a a fundamental policy as rejecting the EU is concerned, there is no prospect whatever of a pro-EU government's accceding to a petition." So there we have it - UKIP does not really believe in its own policies, apparently.

"No prospect whatever" of a referendum achieving anything, according to the office of Nigel Farage MEP. This is another example of the supreme hypocrisy of the UKIP leadership, and one which may prove to be the Fuhrer's downfall.
Could this be why Dan Hannan is seemingly acting as The Judas Goat to Douglas Carswell's Rose Goat? Do they share Farage's view that holding Referenda on The EU is great for publicising oneself and attracting active supporters - one can only assume the three of them wish they had been trusted to participate in The Express campaign which has already attracted 373,000 who say NO to EU Membership, activists and has clearly publicised the issue.
I expect they are a little miffed that despite the attempt they were unable to take over and emasculate The EU Referendum Campaign fronted by Jon Gaunt, James Pryor and Bridget Rowe, nor The Tory Better Off Out Group - was their collective aim to act as The Judas Goat and lead the Campaign to the slaughter for paymasters who fund them well within The EU?
Might it be that they have watched Nikki Sinclaire move forward with her Petition for an In/Out EU Referendum - not only raising the profile of the issue but clearly leaving them floundering as she obtains cross party support and respect as one of the two remaining UKIP MEPs with integrity seeking to Leave-The-EU with some clarity and a refusal to collude with the racist, anti Jewish and violent sexually intollerant claque Nigel Farage befouls British Politics by leading The Pan EU EFD Political Group

(The wisdom of allowing such a poorly written letter to go out over Steve Reed's signature on Farage's behalf  to a constituent must also surely be called into question. May we commend the constituent for their promptly

AN INTERESTING ADDITION WAS SENT TO ME:

quote
Let the People Decide
Nigel Farage MEP

There is a growing appetite from the public for a referendum on whether we stay in the EU or opt for a Free Trade deal.

This campaign is all about numbers and all of us can do our bit to help. I know that many branches of UKIP cannot wait to be back on the streets with petition stalls.

If every one of you takes a petition form to your office, club or pub we will be on the road towards millions of signatures. At this level I believe the national press will unable to stop themselves joining in the debate about this country being able to decide its own fate.

This may be a long campaign but, if there are enough of us, the politicians will HAVE to listen.
ends

Clearly Nigel Farage is more than a little confused changing his mind on a regular basis or is it just on the grounds of what he can make out of it?

Wasn't it the 2005 petition Nigel Farage, Mark Croucher and David Lott obtained £250,000 pounds of tax payers' money for and then raised a great deal more from yet never produced a single legitimate petition, never accounted a single penny nor the huge profits from Ashford set up on its back (described by Farage as THE most profitable thing UKIP had ever done) yet less than 15% of the money EVER reached UKIP as confirmed by The Chairman David Bannerman.

Is it really coincidence that Nigel Farage deposited £250,000 in his off shore account, Mark Croucher opened 2 pubs (which due to his utter incompetence went belly up) and David Lott relocated via Romsey to France where he would pay less taxes and £1/4Million was paid out by Ashford and deposited into a private bank account.

Indeed Farage does seem ambivalent on the matter of Referenda and Petitions and sadly it does look as if that is based upon corruption rather than political wisdom or leadership - skills he has been proven time and again to lack.supplying the letter so that it could be made public!)
