16-Feb-2011 - Jon GAUNT - TAXI GLOBE - EU Referendum Pledge.
JON GAUNT TALKS TO TAXI GLOBE
In a recent interview with Taxi Globe, Jon Gaunt
told our reporter why he has become Official
Spokesman for the EU Referendum Campaign. Now
he has written the following article.
A GOOD LITMUS TEST
One of the greatest pleasures of using a black cab
is the way I always get straight into a discussion or
even argument with the Cabbie about the state of the UK. In fact when I was
presenting my show on BBC London and Talksport, my taxi journeys often
just felt like extensions of my phone in programmes.
I’ll also admit that I
found the London Cabbie not only a good litmus test of my ideas but also
a ready supplier of subjects that I could, and should, discuss on my radio
shows. It’s always been clear to me that Cabbies are much more in touch
with the thoughts and experiences of real people than the politicians of all
parties will ever be.
That’s why I am writing this article as I need Cabbies views on the
one subject that illustrates more than any other just how out of touch our
politicians are with the people. That subject of course is whether we should
stay in the EU or not!
EU REFERENDUM CAMPAIGN
A recent ComRes Poll for the EU Referendum Campaign showed that 75
percent of the British public want a referendum on the EU but still our out
of touch political masters, of all parties, refuse to give us a straightforward
in or out vote.
Blair, Brown and Cameron are the political equivalent of the three
monkeys who can see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil when it comes
to the EU. But the British people are not deaf, dumb or blind. They can see
what is happening as the Euro crashes and burns. They don’t want to suffer
from the most draconian cuts in history whilst we bail out pig economies
like Ireland. They don’t want to lose their jobs and homes whilst foreign
aid is not only ringed fenced but increased. And they don’t want students
rioting and cuts in welfare of 7 Billion pounds whilst we promise exactly
the same amount of our cash to Ireland.
You have to ask the question just what is the real agenda of the political
elite? Why won’t they give the people of the UK the right to vote on whether
we stay in the EU or not?
Just what are they afraid of?
WHY I BECAME OFFICIAL SPOKESPERSON FOR
THE CAMPAIGN
These are the reasons why I, and tens of thousands like me, have joined the
EU Referendum Campaign and why I became the official spokesman.
At this point let me stress the EU Referendum Campaign is not about
persuading people to vote one way or the other, and indeed if it was I
wouldn’t be involved. As you know if you use to listen to me I do not
believe it is the job of a columnist or a big mouth on the radio to tell people
how to vote. But it is my right and our campaign’s right to clearly demand a
referendum, a simple “in or out” vote on our continued membership of this
super state. As the Clash (almost) used to sing, “Should we stay or should
we go?”
In just four months we have built up the largest database of supporters of
any Euro sceptic group and rather than play to the Westminster village and
their cronies we are taking the battle to and with the people. We have been
joined by loads of grassroots groups who are fed up with the EU interfering
with their lifestyles and business whether they are bikers, alternative health
practitioners or Hedge Fund managers. And dare I say it even Cabbies who
must be sick to death with EU red tape strangling your trade and indeed the
crippling costs of the new Air Quality Strategy, which will write off any cab
over fifteen years old.
We are not affiliated to any political party and we reject the outdated idea
of left and right. However we have written to every single MP to find out if
they would support a referendum and we intend to name and shame them
if they don’t.
The professional politicians have failed the British public and it is time
for the people to seize the initiative and demand a referendum on our great
country’s future.
GETTING THE MESSAGE OUT THERE
The answer will not and can’t come from the political elite in Westminster
or Brussels but from the people. That’s where we need you the London
Cabbies help. We need you to get the message out there that The EU affects
each and every one of us and whether your passenger is a supporter of the
EU or not they should demand the right to have a vote on our continued
membership of this organisation.
So if you agree with me please sign our pledge on the coupon on
this page and demand a vote on our country’s future or sign online at
www.eureferendumcampaign.com.

15-Feb-2011 - Jon GAUNT Gets Blogging on The EU!
Britain Held Prisoner by ECHR
By Jon Gaunt , on Yesterday at 14:00
Our new blogger Jon Gaunt on votes in prison.
Hold the front page! Get out your diaries! At long last the self-serving pigs of Westminster are listening to the voters. Only 7 percent of us wanted prisoners to be given the vote and for once the Political elite sided with us the people! So is this, as The Specials sang, the Dawning of a new Era?
Sadly I don’t think so. The vote on prisoners was a no brainer mainly because every politician knew that it would take years for the European Court of Human Rights to actually fine us for not complying with their diktat. So in reality it was a pyrrhic victory at best and at worse just another example of the Political Elite playing to the Gallery or more accurately the Tabloid press pack!
In the end Cameron knows and they know that the UK will once again cough up and bow down to Brussels and Strasbourg.
Unless of course Cameron 'grows a pair' and decides to abandon this chaotic coalition and actually decides to give the British people as a whole, prisoners and all if he likes, the only real vote we need, which is whether of not to stay in the EU.
A few months ago when I joined the EU referendum campaign this seemed like a long-term project. A dream or a fantasy. However with the pig economies of Ireland, Greece, Portugal and perhaps even Spain going down quicker than a girl at the infamous Cynthia Parties, perhaps, just perhaps, the UK may restore its sovereignty sooner than expected.
There’s even talk in the corridors of power of Cameron making this an election manifesto pledge (yes I know they’re worth as much as the Zimbabwe Dollar but it’s a start!). One things for sure there is a new breed of Euro-sceptic within the Tory ranks and the British public in poll after poll are overwhelmingly calling for a referendum, the last one for ConmRes had the figure at 75 percent.
The EU and the ECHR are not directly linked of course but there is no way that Cameron can ever create our own UK bill of rights whilst we are a member of the EU. It is forbidden or should I say Verboten!
Cleary we don’t want to be isolationist or little Englanders and of course we want to trade with the rest of Europe but there is no way we want our economy, our taxation system, banking regulation, immigration control and courts controlled by faceless often unelected and poorly trained judges, M EP’s or European Commissioners.
I don’t know about you but I want to be ruled by British Politicians who we elect and more importantly who we can sack and the sooner Cameron allows us the British people a real say on our sovereignty the better, not only for his career but for this great nation as well.Find out more about the EU referendum campaign at their website.

10-Feb-2011 - Nikki SINCLAIRE MEP's PETITION for A REFERENDUM - hits Westminster
Battle Bus hits Westminster, tomorrow and Friday
PRESS RELEASE:
.
MEP BRINGS EU PETITION BATTLE BUS TO
HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT
West Midlands’ MEP, Nikki Sinclaire, is bringing her ‘Have Your Say’ Battle Bus to the Houses of Parliament on 10th and 11th February.
Since September of last year, the Battle Bus has visited over 30 towns and cities across the country. Ms Sinclaire’s aim is to get 100K signatures for her Petition for a EU referendum .
She wants to give British people the chance to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to being part of the European Union.
Anyone under the age of 54 has never had the chance to vote on this issue which Nikki Sinclaire believes is wrong. The last time the UK held a referendum on the Common Market, at it was then known, was in 1975 – and even this was retrospective and based on lies admitted years later.
The aim of bringing the Battle Bus to Westminster is to get MPs from all parties to sign The Petition and encourage them to get their constituents to back The Referendum too.
It will be a great time to highlight The EU control over Britain as MPs will be voting on The EU aspect of Human Rights that will force Britain to permit Criminals in Prison to Vote in elections! Which according to all the polls is against the wishes of The Peoples of Britain.
Despite the fact that, if successful, the campaign outcome could put her out of a job, Nikki thinks people have the right to decide.
Commenting on the campaign, she said:
"This is an issue that must be resolved for over 20 years the debate has raged. In that time opinion polls have shown that more and more people are opposed to Britain's membership of the EU.We desperately need a national debate on the pros and cons of our membership of the European Union. At the moment we have one foot in and one foot out. This is detrimental to Britain's interests.I call on a binding referendum and the courage of our political leaders to abide by it.It is called democracy and that is why I am taking my battle bus to the mother of parliaments in Westminster "
Nikki Sinclaire MEP and her Battle Bus team
will be located in Old Palace Yard,
Westminster (Opposite Palace of Westminster),
SW1P 3JY
from 9am to 5pm each day.
ENDS
I gather already Sinclaire has the support of several MPs from both Parties at Westminster and has a photo session sheduled with a House photographer of a major National paper, another booking with a freelance media photographer and a lunch session booked with the political editor of a National Mainstrean respected Sunday Paper.SO FAR!
I have just heard there is also a TV documentary slot AND The Petition has been provided with a fully functioning office with communications and computers in Parliament somewhere!
More good news I hear UKIP's other remaining MEP Mike Nattrass, who has also quit as part of Farage's vile EFD Group due to its racism, xenophobia, sexual intollerance and criminal associations, he will be going to help Nikki Sinclaire and her 8 staff members on both days in London.
I wonder how long it will be before EFD Group MEPs opt to denigrate what is being done by Sinclaire & Nattrass also by the good work in The EU Referendum Campaign with their pledge to ingratiate themselves with The Judas Goat?
we know that Bannerman & Andreasen have both tried to cosy up to The Tories in the past and William Legge / Dartmouth was a Tory and would feel more at home there even if he would be as unwelcome as Andreasen & Bannerman who were both rejected when they last made overtures - but might Farage be willing to join with The Judas Goat led by the nose as clearly his errand boy Godfrey would help fund his life style and of course The NFU would rather their MEP Stuart Agnew was in place with the Tories rather than on the fiddle with the sordid EFD Group.
The Chinese curse of 'May you live in interesting times' may prove more curse than cure in the light of potential 'Spanish Practices' from the fraud from Barcelona!
To return to the plot rather than the plotting:
To raise the profile of The Human Rights Issue over pensioners voting I note on The EU Parliament site the following written question that has been lodged today:

Hi,
here is a really good soundbite for leaving the EU:
Bob Brolley on BBC radio Coventry & Warwickshire.
Good for Ms. Sinclaire - time we redeemed our liberty, restored our democracy, reinstated our sovereignty, repatriated our governance and reintroduced justice.
Lets have a Referendum on In or Out of this malevolent, self serving, centralised undemocratic EU rip off that costs British tax payers £48 Million a DAY.
Lets save the money and start to pay off the £4.8 Trillion of debt incurred whilst in The EU - lets pay for ourselves not everyone else.
see: TheMidnightGroup.Blogspot.com
Nikki Sinclaire was in Tunisia yesterday as the only British MEP invited on the EU delegation where she was able to put the British case for democracy can not exist without Sovereignty and the people must be sovereign on an equal basis regardless of gender, ethnicity or creed.
I gather more will be available on this in the next day or two.

07-Feb-2011 - WESTMINSTER HOUSE Mag Back Cover this week!
This advert is on the back cover on The House magazine which goes to all MP's and Peers.
Well done to Bridget Rowe, I have no idea how she managed to pull it off to get the back cover of that mag but she did (probably better not ask but I don't think phone tapping was involved or a close relationship with an SO1 Officer!)
The advert's placement couldn't more in-your-face.
The (MP's and Peers.....and 1,400 researchers, parliamentary assistants, press lobby and political staff) pigeon holes at the Houses of Parliament would have received a copy on Friday afternoon.
Monday morning when they all turn up for work should prove to be interesting..............
Well done The Team & particularly Bridget ;-)
The last time this was done was with:
22-Jan-2011 ADVERT - New Statesman Page #8 & WESTMINSTER HOUSE Mag Back Cover!
Not Just A Full Page Advert on P8 of that week's New Statesman.
Anyone who is able and willing to sponsor an advert like this PLEASE contact Bridget Rowe or James Pryor during office hours on 0207 - 6306 778
If you want to chat about an idea I may be able to help - just give me a phone call almost any evening on 01291 - 62 65 62
We need to strengthen both The Petition for a Referendum and also for The EUReferendum Campaign in the light of the duplicity of the probable Judas Goat (or See search top Right Sidebar!) where on an ego trip it seems that yet again the peoples of these United Kingdoms are likely to be betrayed by a gaggle of self serving politicians.
Clearly in our efforts to redeem our Liberty, restore our Democracy, reinstate our Sovereignty, repatriate our Governance, reinvigorate our Economy, reconstitute our Values and re-establish our fundamental Human Right of Self Determination within these United Kingdoms with men and women of honour returned at Westminster we must NOTE it was Politicians and the burgeoning army of Snivil Cervants and the Kleptocratic QUANGOcracy which betrayed us.
History has shown us time withouit number it is our people who save our Country whilst again and again it is the failures of our politicians that plunge us into trade wars, social wars, civil wars and military expansionist wars - rarely have our politicians or scivil cervants served us well and now it seems that emerging from our political class is the Judas Goat seeking personal gain and seeking to emasculate the people thus ensuring a prolongued vassal status within the malevolent and vile EUropean Union.

just a few days ago the claque in UKIP was hurling insults and claimingdistortions and dishonesty because we on this blog AND Junius on their blog published the fact that Nigel Farage had denounced Referendums as of no political relevance (well to be fair UKIP seem only to have ever used them to dishonestly rip off money and addresses for the leadership and 'chums'; I know of no Petition or Referendum by UKIP ever completed let alone delivered!).
We had the odious claque masquerading as Skeptyk desperately trying to spin and pass the buck but their serial dishonesty and obvious lies have destroyed their credibility in all but the most gullible quarters - they have all the credibility of a Parliamentary Lobbyist on Cocain!

In the last 30+ days there has been no correction of his letter just liars and trash picking up crumbs TRYING to sound plausible renouncing Farage's belief, as typed up for him by Steve Reed (currently calling himself Andrew).

British MEP Nigel Farage, Co-chair of the Europe Freedom and Democracy Group is in Finland to give support to the True Finns party's election campaign.
Farage attended a gathering also attended by True Finns Party Chair, Timo Soini on Sunday. Farage called for a referendum on the future of the EU in the light of the current economic crisis facing Greece and other member states.
The controversial eurosceptic MEP wished the True Finns good luck with their campaign.
The hypocrisy is quite sickening.

87% Of British People Want MORE EU DEBATE 'cos THERE'S A THIEF ABOUT
87% of the British public think the EU needs to debated nationally
In an exclusive ComRes poll on behalf of the EU Referendum Campaign, it was revealed that the British public clearly want more of a national debate about the pros and cons of being in the EU. They feel that more information about the EU is needed.
The public were asked if they agree or disagree that “There should be more of a national debate about the pros and cons of being in the EU so that the public are better informed”:
Agree: 87%
Disagree: 7%
Don’t know: 6%
James Pryor, Chief Executive of the EU Referendum Campaign said “The British people want the truth about our membership of the EU to be brought out into the open. They want to know what it means for them and their families. The politicians have to start telling them the truth about our relationship with the EU. Why can’t the people have a say? Why can't we have a referendum? What are the politicians afraid of? The debate has, for far too long, been kept in the Westminster Village where it has constantly been kicked into the long grass and this has created the most appalling democratic deficit of our times”
ComRes Chairman Andrew Hawkins said: “There is an overwhelming sense not only of suspicion towards some of the key EU competences but also that people feel kept in the dark about why Britain is in the EU. Given the resonance of ‘ever closer union’ and the enthusiasm in some quarters for direct fiscal powers – which have been floated as a response to the economic crisis – I cannot help but think British public opinion is on a collision course with the EU.”

AN EU REFERENDUM WILL BRING BRUSSLES TO HEEL

By Patrick O'Flynn
IN THE past, divisions over Europe have been disastrous for the Conservative Party.
They contributed significantly to the ousting of Margaret Thatcher and crippled the administration of John Major. Yet after the downfall of Major the splits all but disappeared. This is because the pro-Brussels brigade was routed. Bar one or two veterans, most notably Kenneth Clarke, the Conservatives became a fully fledged Eurosceptic party.
But now a new division is opening up in Conservative ranks, between two different strands of Euroscepticism. The schism could, for the first time, be clearly seen this week in the wake of this newspaper’s delivery of hundreds of thousands of coupons demanding a referendum on leaving the EU.
Four Tories accompanied us up Downing Street – along with Labour’s patron saint of common sense Kate Hoey – to deliver the petitions. Peter Bone, Philip Hollobone, Philip Davies and Douglas Carswell are the leading Conservative lights of the Better Off Out group. They would leave the EU tomorrow if they could. There are scores of other Tories who have not yet baldly stated their wish to leave the EU but nonetheless support the idea of a referendum. And it is inconceivable that they would campaign on the side of staying in.

But there is another large group of Euro-sceptic Tories that have nailed their colours to a different mast. These are the MPs who call for repatriation of powers from the EU to the British Parliament. By winning back lost sovereignty, as envisaged in successive Conservative election manifestos, they say that EU membership can once again be allied with the British national interest.
THERE are so many holes in this argument that one barely knows where to start. David Cameron has already shown he is not inclined to be tough with Brussels, nodding through budget increases and contributions to the Irish bailout while getting nothing in return.
THERE are so many holes in this argument that one barely knows where to start. David Cameron has already shown he is not inclined to be tough with Brussels, nodding through budget increases and contributions to the Irish bailout while getting nothing in return.
When invited by Zac Goldsmith this week to state that Britain will leave the Common Fisheries Policy unless “discard” arrangements that involve dead fish being tipped back into the sea are abolished, the Prime Minister merely pledged to “work to that end”.
Then there is the fact that Cameron’s Lib Dem coalition partners are pro-Brussels fanatics who will not countenance any attempt to repatriate sovereignty anyway. But most importantly of all there is the attitude of the European elite towards giving powers back to individual member states. Only under the most extreme coercion would they even consider it. On the contrary, it is their ambition to take even more power from national parliaments.
It was ever thus. When Margaret Thatcher battled for the British budget rebate a generation ago it was only by threatening to block all EU business that she got a hearing.
In the Commons on Tuesday many Tories supported a call by Bill Cash for “a clear and positive policy to repatriate those laws that are now within the European Union, which are deliberately and willfully destroying the British economy”.
Few would disagree with that ambition but Mr Hollobone told him: “It is like pushing water uphill.
We are not going to get anywhere with Brussels because it will not see sense on these issues... We have given these things away.”
He added: “I do not see the coalition Government repatriating any powers. For many people it has now come to the issue of whether we are in or out. I do not believe that we can be ‘in Europe but not run by Europe’. That slogan is, I am afraid, no longer valid.”
If the schism between the Better Off Out group and the repatriators gets much wider then the Conservatives will once more be laid low by splits on Europe.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
For the irony is that the one thing that might persuade Brussels to loosen its grip on the sovereign throat of Britain is if it knew that a referendum of the British people on whether to remain in the EU was on the horizon. If the Prime Minister were to announce there will be such a referendum in, say, two years time then the European Commission would know that it had 24 months to make the British people a credible offer. It does not wish to lose the UK from the EU, not least because of our enormous budgetary contributions but also because of the precedent a major member leaving would set.
So the repatriators would suddenly have maximum leverage and the practicality of their mission could be tested. All brands of sceptics could see what powers Brussels was willing to return under duress and the British people could judge if that was sufficient.
By adopting such a course the Conservatives could maintain party unity on Europe and pursue the British national interest. Otherwise Mr Cameron will make no progress on Europe and may have to prepare for increasingly bitter infighting of the sort that destroyed several of his predecessors.
